Daily Prayers for the EFECW

These prayers have been offered by the England Forum to be used as a daily prayer focus for the women of the forum, our nations and churches.

PRAYING TOGETHER

Lord we come before you, not alone,
but in the company of one another,
as sisters of the Ecumenical Forum of European Christian Women.
We share happiness with each other –
and it becomes greater.
We share our troubles with each other –
and they become smaller.
We share one another’s griefs and burdens –
and their weight becomes possible to bear.

Help us to hold each other in our hearts and minds as we pray,
and as we go about our daily lives.

PRAYER FOR THE FORUM

God of power and promise,
You gather and scatter your people to the ends of the earth.
Gather me together now with my sisters in the Ecumenical Forum of Christian Women.

Today is the (NUMBER) day of the month where we think especially of our sisters in (COUNTRY)*

PRAYER FOR THE WORLD
Holy God,
we offer to you
our prayers for the world:

for those who long for good news
and for those
who no longer believe
that good news is possible …

for those who yearn
to break out of their prisons,
and those who do not realise
the prisons that hold them …

for those who seek
for truth and wisdom
and those who have
given up the search …

for those who labour for justice
and those who are
tired of the struggle …

for those who need to know
God loves them
and those who are hurt
by the Church’s failure to love …

Loving God,
as Lydia welcomed the Gospel,
Tabitha offered her skills
and Rhoda held fast to the truth,
We pray that we too may be filled with your Spirit.
And be ready always, in word and deed, to pursue peace and justice within our nations, communities and homes. AMEN
